Useful Information

We provide a supportive, structured online environment that gives every learner a fresh opportunity to thrive. Our goal is to help students progress academically, build resilience, and enjoy learning along the way.

Before you enrol, here is some important information to help you understand how our programme works and how we can work together to get the best results for your child.

How Our Lessons Work

  • We teach two-hour sessions with breaks in small, familiar groups of 10 or fewer
  • Rolling monthly enrolment
  • Structured, focused approach designed to maximise learning without overload

This setup provides intensity and consistency. We want to make sure it suits your child’s needs.

What Optimal Learning Is and Is Not

  • We are an online tutoring service, not a school, college, or state-registered institution.
  • We deliver a core academic pathway in English, maths, sciences, and wellbeing, supporting progression to recognised Level 2 qualifications.
  • Parents remain legally responsible for their child’s education and may wish to provide additional support in consultation with their local authority or education provider.

Materials and Homework

  • Parents cover the cost of textbooks and materials, but we give at least one month’s notice before any expenses.
  • Our virtual classes are run over Google Classroom, so you will need a Google account and ideally a dedicated computer and private space to study during each class.
  • Our homework and self-directed projects are designed to be high-impact, manageable, and engaging.
  • With your support, students can get the most out of their learning outside the virtual classroom.

Exams and Assessment Support

  • We are not an exam centre. Arranging external exams is the responsibility of parents.
  • We recommend straightforward national and regional options and provide references or professional guidance for access arrangements or approved assessment adjustments.
  • While some steps such as medical consultations or local authority involvement are beyond our control, we support you every step of the way.

Attendance and Motivation

  • Regular attendance is key to building consistent study habits.
  • Contact hours are deliberately limited to reduce cognitive, emotional, and sensory overload.
  • Our Wellbeing module helps students develop academic and emotional resilience.
  • Catch-up sessions are available for absences with at least 48 hours’ notice. This keeps learners on track and engaged.

Working Together

Our programme works best as a partnership between tutors, students, and families. While some responsibilities such as exams or legal requirements are outside our control, we are here to guide, advise, and support your child’s learning journey at every stage.
